# Payment & Connected Account Terms

**Pilot Version 1.0 · Effective 2026-08-02**

These terms apply when your Organization connects a payment provider to
the Service. They are part of the Pilot Terms of Service. You will be
asked to accept them at the moment you connect a provider — not before.

## 1. Your payment account is yours

- Payments from your customers are processed on **your own
  payment-provider account** (for example, your own Stripe account),
  using credentials you supply. We are not the merchant of record, we do
  not hold your funds, and we deduct nothing from your sales.
- Your agreement with the payment provider governs processing, payouts,
  reserves, and account standing. We are not a party to that agreement.
- Credentials you connect are stored in a dedicated secret store and used
  only to act on your instructions. Disconnecting removes them.

## 2. Your responsibilities for your sales

- **Refunds**: your refund policy, your decision, your funds.
- **Chargebacks and disputes**: yours to respond to and fund, under your
  payment provider's rules.
- **Taxes**: collecting and remitting any tax on your sales is your
  responsibility. Your payment provider's tax reporting applies to your
  account under its own rules.

## 3. No platform fees during the pilot

**We charge no platform fee and take no share of your sales during the
pilot.** If a platform fee is ever introduced, it will be described in an
updated version of these terms stating the exact amount, what it applies
to, when it is collected, and how it is treated on refunds — and it will
require your explicit acceptance before it applies to you.

## 4. Test mode and going live

Payment features may be exercised against your provider's test mode
first. Nothing moves real money until you connect live credentials and
complete your provider's own onboarding. During the pilot we recommend
starting in test mode.

## 5. Disconnecting

You may disconnect a payment provider at any time; historical records of
past payments remain in your Organization's data. Disconnecting does not
cancel obligations that already exist between you and your customers or
between you and your provider.
