Communications Terms

These terms apply when your Organization enables outbound email or SMS. They are part of the Pilot Terms of Service. You will be asked to accept them at the moment you connect a sending provider — not before.

1. Sending is off until you turn it on

Live email and SMS delivery is not enabled during the pilot unless you explicitly connect a sending provider. Until then, the Service composes and records messages but delivers nothing externally.

2. Messages are yours

When sending is enabled, messages go out on your behalf, under your identity (your sender name, your email domain, your phone number), to your recipients, using provider credentials you supply. You are the sender for legal purposes.

3. Consent and opt-outs — your obligations

- You must have the consent your jurisdiction requires before messaging a person (for SMS in the United States, that generally means prior express consent, and prior express written consent for marketing). - Opt-outs are honored mechanically: an SMS STOP or an email unsubscribe creates a suppression that the Service enforces on every future send. You must not attempt to bypass suppressions, and we do not remove them on request. - You must include the identification your channel requires (for email, who you are and a working unsubscribe; for SMS, sender identification and opt-out language where required).

4. Registration and carrier requirements (SMS)

US application-to-person SMS requires carrier registration tied to YOUR business identity, arranged through your own messaging provider. You are responsible for the accuracy of registration information; carrier fees, throughput caps, and filtering decisions are outside our control.

5. Costs

We charge nothing for communications during the pilot. Your own provider bills you directly under your agreement with them. If we ever introduce included allowances or charges, they will be described in an updated version of these terms requiring your explicit acceptance first.

6. Suspension for abuse

Deliverability is shared infrastructure. We may pause sending for an Organization whose messages generate complaint or bounce rates that threaten other tenants, or that violate the Acceptable Use Policy, and we will tell you when we do.
